Qualified Mediator  Content will comes here. The Criminal Code of Canada section 430, defines mischief as anyone who:

  • Destroys or alters property
  • Renders property dangerous, ineffective, inoperative, or useless
  • Obstructs, interrupts or interferes with the lawful use, enjoyment or operation of property; or
  • Obstructs, interferes or interrupts any person from the lawful use, operation or enjoyment of the property.

Charges can take two forms; either a ‘mischief under $5000’ or ‘mischief over $5000’ cost. It all depends on the value of the item that was damaged by the accused. No matter how small the charge may seem, if you have no criminal record, a conviction will have a detrimental effect on your life.
